Academic Insights
Many doctors and patients believe that the more aligned the teeth are, the better they look. However, Dr. Yan points out that natural teeth are actually of varying lengths and arranged in an orderly but uneven manner, rather than forming a straight line. In addition, facial aesthetics are mainly reflected in the lower third of the face (from the lower edge of the nasal alae to the mandible); this area is the most vivid part of the face, and tooth alignment is the factor with the greatest influence on it. Therefore, dental treatment should also consider the overall face, as even the slightest deviation may give people a “strange” feeling. After exploring nearly 10,000 clinical cases and conducting multiple academic exchanges with many renowned domestic dental aesthetics experts, Dr. Yan summarized the “3S Dental Aesthetics” concept, leading another revolution in oral aesthetics.
“3S Dental Aesthetics” refers to a three-dimensional (stereo), streamlined (streamline), and more satisfying (satisfy) approach to dental aesthetics. The “3S Dental Aesthetics” concept integrates aesthetic principles into cosmetic crowns and emphasizes a dental aesthetics philosophy in which the teeth are more harmoniously coordinated with the lip shape, face shape, incisal edges, tooth tips, gingival contour, etc.

Medical Aesthetics Philosophy
Teeth play a very important role in the human body. Having “surgery” on teeth often causes some psychological fear in many patients. In foreign countries, when patients receive dental treatment from a dentist, a psychologist is often present to help relieve their psychological pressure and reduce their psychological burden; China does not have such a system.
Since his student days, Dr. Yan has noticed this lack of humanistic care in domestic dental aesthetics. He found that many patients express fear of pain and doubt during consultation, and this is especially evident before surgery. After beginning his professional career, Dr. Yan has striven to play the dual role of dentist and psychologist, communicating with patients before surgery to soothe their emotions, carrying out “painless” procedures as much as possible, and patiently answering various patient questions after surgery, allowing patients to truly enjoy the entire dental aesthetics process.
